The separate "wifi adapter" is a USB attachment for your computer in the event of you not having a wifi network, this dongle will give you some wifi that the wii can connect to. This is not however necessary as you may use a USB cable to plug the wii into most modern routers if you prefer.

I skipped to PS3 and got a Xbox 360 a few years ago so I don't know anything really about PSN online. For PlayStation 3 on the PlayStation 3, a GameFAQs message board topic titled "Did the 60 GB "fat" ps3's have built in wifi?". The early white (one antenna) USB wifi adapter is a bit different than the black version (two antenna, added wireless "N" support). Supposedly the latter is needed to use 5ghz networks. I don't recall 360 integrating the feature.

My only (small) gripe is that the machine isn't very grippy, so it's easy to drop, especially when your hands are a little damp from nerves in an important boss battle.
